New Delhi, January 14: The Delhi government on Tuesday announced that present Delhi Commissioner of Police Amulya Kumar Patnaik would retire from government services with effect from 31st January 2020. Following this the the name of current Director General of Police for Maharashtra -- Subodh Kumar Jaiswal -- is making the rounds who might replace Patnaik.

Informing about Patnaik's retirement, Delhi government said, as quoted by ANI, "onsequent upon attaining the age of superannuation, Delhi Commissioner of Police, Amulya Kumar Patnaik shall stand retired from government services with effect from 31st January 2020." As per the details pouring in, if Subodh Kumar Jaiswal is made the new police commissioner for Delhi, the law and order situation is mostly likely to be addressed in a better way. Considering the track record of 1985 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, who was with the the Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W) as the additional secretary for three years. Jaiswal is also a recipient of President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, 2009.
