Amravati, June 10: Days after denying a Cabinet Berth in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government, former Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is most likely to be appointed as the next governor of Andhra Pradesh. Though the reports are yet to be confirmed by the Union ministry, BJP leaders have already started tweeting about this latest development.

Considered as one of the best performing Union ministers in the previous tenure of PM Modi government, Swaraj had declared that she would not contest Lok Sabha Elections 2019. With thing going in favour of the 75-year old leader, it was speculated that though her request of not to be inducted in the new Modi cabinet would be respected, she would be given a senior post in the government. Sushma Swaraj Quashes Report of Being Appointed as Andhra Pradesh Governor, Calls it 'Untrue'

According to reports, if Swaraj becomes the new governor of Andhra Pradesh, she would replace the acting Governor ESL Narasimhan, who has an added responsibility to look after Telangana state. With Swaraj replacement in government, BJP would have an added edge in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
