Jaipur, February 10: Swine Flu cases are on the rise across India with Rajasthan being the worst-hit state of the country. This year till February 10, a total of 107 people lost their lives, and 2,941 positive cases have also been reported across the state due to the H1N1 virus. Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the H1N1 virus has so far claimed over 200 lives across the country. On Friday, four people died of swine flu in Rajasthan. The patients who lost their lives were from Kota, Jodhpur, Hanumangarh and Dausa districts. On February 6, a meeting was held by the health ministry headed by Secretary Preeti Sudan to review on action taken to deal swine flu. A Public Health Team has also been deputed to Rajasthan to assess the situation and assist the states to deal with the swine flu outbreak. The H1N1 virus is also known as Swine flu is a respiratory disease which is caused by the influenza virus that infects pigs, resulting in a cough, decreased appetite and nasal secretion. This virus can also infect humans and other animals. Swine Flu can spread from person to person and considered very contagious.
