Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma never fail to give us couple goals. The Indian cricket captain yesterday was given the  Polly Umrigar Award i.e. Cricketer of the Year for his terrific form in  2016-17 & 2017-18 at the BCCI Annual Awards held in Bengaluru. Wifey Anushka Sharma was with him during the ceremony and Virat was on cloud nine receiving the accolade in her presence.

The award was given away by Indian coach Ravi Shastri and after receiving the honour Virat said, "My wife is here today so makes it more special. The awards didn't happen last year but I am glad they didn't because she is here now." Anushka was all smiles as Virat flashed the trophy on stage. Watch the video below.

The ceremony was also attended by the players of Afghanistan who will play a test match in India in Bengaluru starting from tomorrow. Virat who is currently nursing his neck injury is not a part of the team. Ajinkya Rahane will lead the squad in his absence.  Former England captain Kevin Pietersen, who delivered the keynote address for the MAK Pataudi Memorial lecture, was also present.

During his speech, Pieterson batted for Day and Night test matches. "If we wish cricketers to commit to five-day cricket we have to pay them. So how do we pay them? Simply by throwing the same commercial nouse and innovation at the Test game. Five days of action. They provide so many opportunities.

Day night games have demonstrated the enormous leaps that are possible. The IPL doesn't play its biggest fixtures when many of its staunchest, wealthiest fans are at work. Neither should Test," he said.
