Tennis Juggernaut Roger Federer was delighted after his victory against Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the second round of  Rolex Shanghai Masters 2019. The Swiss star looked at its premium best and defeated his opponent 6-2, 7-6. The win was also quite special to Federer as he was seeking redemption for his loss against the Spaniard in the 2015 edition of the same tournament. After the match, the 38-year old admitted that he was thinking about his previous defeat against the Spanish player on the eve of the match and was seeking redemption. The veteran eventually achieved his target and settled the scores with his opposition.

Four years ago, Ramos-Vinolas stunned the then-World No. 3 Federer by defeating him 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3 in the second round of the tournament. This triumph boosted Ramos-Vinolas a lot as this was his first win against a Top-10 player. Post-match, Federer was reminded about his 2015 loss and the Swiss great accepted that it was on his mind. Federer further said that he watched the highlights repeatedly and remembered how he felt. The Swiss legend also felt that he could have won that match and was very disappointed. However, Federer didn’t put a foot wrong this time and made sure that the previous victory was once in a blue moon.

Albert Ramos-Vinolas also made an emphatic start to the tournament as he defeated Croatian star Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Roger Federer, Shanghai Masters, Shanghai Masters 2019, Shanghai Masters 2019 Third Round, Tennis in the opening round of the tournament. The 31-year old was also eyeing his second victory over Federer but eventually lost the match. After this defeat, Ramos-Vinolas is eliminated from the tournament and Federer has advanced to the third round.
