New Delhi [India], May 1 (ANI): AIIMS New Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, embarked on a significant endeavour to provide essential healthcare services to the residents of the Lakshadweep Islands.

The multispecialty medical camp, held from April 29th to April 30th aimed to address the healthcare needs of the islanders, benefiting over 1,500 citizens on each island, said AIIMS New Delhi in a press release.

This collaborative effort reflects AIIMS New Delhi's commitment to extending quality healthcare services to remote areas and underserved communities across the nation.

M Srinivas, Director of AIIMS, New Delhi, expressed the institute's dedication, stating, "AIIMS New Delhi, as the premier medical institute of the country, is steadfast in its mission to provide the best healthcare services to deprived communities in peripheral areas. Our collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard underscores our commitment to extending healthcare services to those in need."

Srinivas led the medical team, consisting of 15 specialist doctors from various fields including Gynecology, Pediatrics, Neurology, Endocrinology Dermatology, Orthopedics, and more.
