New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva on Monday slammed the Congress for "snatching the rights of OBCs for appeasement of minority communities".

"The way Congress is snatching the rights of OBCs for appeasement of minority communities, India won't tolerate this," Sachdeva told reporters here.

"In Karnataka, Congress tried to include Muslims in 27% OBC reservation...this is the right given by BR Ambedkar's constitution...we will object to this," he added.

Congress's alleged appeasement politics seems to have become the BJP's main weapon against it. BJP's top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their election campaign speeches repeatedly allege that the Congress manifesto is full of promises that are aimed at furthering its appeasement politics.

PM Modi has alleged that the Congress manifesto has the "stamp of the Muslim League" and that Congress wanted to distribute private wealth among the Muslim community.

Meanwhile, PM Modi on Monday claimed that the Congress and the INDIA bloc are "spreading lies" on OBC representation, adding that Congress never wanted Dalit, Adivasi and OBC leadership to lead the country.

Addressing a public gathering in Solapur, Maharashtra, PM Modi said that Congress insulted Dalit leader Dr BR Ambedkar.

"Congress never wanted Dalit, Tribal and OBC leadership in the country. This is the same Congress that insulted Dalit leader Dr BR Ambedkar. Babasaheb Ambedkar got the Bharat Ratna when a BJP-backed government was in power at the Centre. It has always been the endeavour of the BJP to ensure maximum representation for SC, ST, and OBCs. In 2014, when you gave us a huge majority, the NDA made a Dalit's son (Ram Nath Kovind), the President (Droupadi Murmu) of the country. In 2019, when you once again gave us a huge mandate, for the first time in the history of the country, a tribal daughter became the President of India. For the first time since independence, there is a huge number of MPs and MLAs from SC, ST and OBC communities in the ruling government. They form about 60 per cent of the Union Council of Ministers. Congress and the INDIA bloc are spreading lies about OBC representation as they have become irritated after being exposed," PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, refuting Prime Minister Modi's claims that "Congress will take away your wealth and give it away to the Muslims," Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party which has made sacrifices for the country cannot take away anyone's Mangalsutra.

Addressing a public rally in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Monday, Kharge said, "They (BJP) are saying that we (Congress) will take away your wealth and give it away to the Muslims. This didn't even happen during the time of the Nizams. We are a democracy now and the Congress party will not let such a time come. If they also want to do this, then we will stop them. Congress will not take away anybody's Mangalsutra."

Referring to former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, he said," We have lost our leaders and made sacrifices for the country and still, the BJP blames Congress".

"Such a rumour was raised when Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister and Jagjivan Ram was the Congress' President," Kharge recalled.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public rally on April 21 charged Congress and said if Congress is voted to power, then they will conduct a wealth survey to seize the assets of people and take away their life-long savings. PM Modi said your mangalsutra will not be safe under Congress rule. (ANI)
