"Abolition of Article 370, ban on triple talaq, paving the way for the construction of grand Ram Temple, surgical strikes and air strikes on terrorists, implementation of One Rank One Pension, Ayushman Bharat medical insurance cards to over 55 crore citizens... All these are some of the works which Modi has done in seven years which were considered impossible and none of his predecessors dared to do," he said.

In this context, Nadda also referred to programmes like getting every house electrified, free gas connections for poor households, Rs 6,000 annual financial assistance for over 10 crore farmers, providing free rations to over 80 crore poor people during the pandemic, free house for the poor to laud Modi.

He asked BJP members to draw inspiration from Modi.

"It is a matter of great privilege and honour for the country and the party that today we are being led and guided by a great personality whose entire life is devoted towards the preservation and promotion of India's rich cultural diversity and heritage. Our prime minister's life is devoted to making India a strong, powerful and prosperous nation," he said in a statement.

He claimed that Modi has changed India's political culture as it was earlier plagued with casteism, appeasement and nepotism but the prime minister had proved that politics is about serving people and the country without any fear or favour.

"All political parties have been forced to change tack and work for the development of the country and welfare of its people," Nadda said.

Noting Modi's humble background, he said the prime minister has always felt very strongly for the welfare of poor and worked to make their lives better and happy.
