Prithvi Sekhar, Dhakshineshwar Enter Last Four in AITA Ranking Event

Chennai, Dec 5 (PTI): Local lad Prithvi Sekhar beat Shashank Macherla Theertha of Telangana 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday to reach the men's singles semifinal of the Sri Arvindar & Co AITA ranking tennis tournament at MPTA @KTC-OMR here.

Meanwhile, top-seed Dhakshineswar Suresh was taken to three sets by Gokul Suresh before winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 for a spot in the last four.

Faisal Qamar and Siddharth Arya also won their quarterfinals, albeit in contrasting fashions.

Results: Singles (Quarterfinals): Dhakshineswar Suresh beat Gokul Suresh 6-2, 4-6, 6-1; Faisal Qamar beat Fahad Mohammed 6-1, 6-2; Siddharth Arya beat Armaan Bhatia 7-6(4), 2-6, 7-6(5); Prithvi Sekhar beat Shashank Macherla Theertha 6 -1, 6-3.
