Justin Kluivert fired Bournemouth ahead in the 13th minute at Turf Moor, showing neat footwork in the box before flashing a shot past goalkeeper James Trafford. Antoine Semenyo ended Burnley's hopes of a comeback with Bournemouth's second in the 88th. Bournemouth fans mocked Kompany as the game drew to a close, chanting “sacked (fired) in the morning.”

Burnley's last win came at Fulham on December 23 and it has lost eight of its 10 games since then. Bournemouth hadn't won in its last six games in all competitions and was knocked out of the FA Cup by second-tier Leicester on Tuesday. This was a first league win since New Year's Eve for Andoni Iraola's team and leaves it 13th in the standings and 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
