Hyderabad, July 20 (PTI) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu Saturday asked Military Engineers to keep updating their professionalskillsto make sure that the skills are in accordance with the dynamic requirements of the profession.

However, training should not be a one-off affair.

Instead, it should be imparted to officers and others at regular intervals in order to keep their skill sets current and up-to-date," he said, speaking at the valedictory function of a foundation course for Military Engineer Services (MES) probationers.

The prestigious first-ever Foundation Course was attended by Military Engineer Services (MES) probationers from 13 States across the country.

It was organized by Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, Engineer-in-Chief, and College of Military Engineering, Pune, the Institute said in a release.

Naidu, who was the Chief Guest, appreciated the crucial role played by the MES over the years in the execution of sophisticated and complex projects like airfields, sports complexes, hangars, dockyards, marine structures and others, the release added.
