Friendship Day 2019 is here and the entire nation is right now drenched in the mushy messages related to it. Thanks to these Bollywood films, the day now gets a different treatment altogether. Because once KJo convinced us that 'pyaar dosti hai', right? Nevertheless, just like this and more such films till date have often fooled the audience with a toxic friendship in the disguise of 'iconic' tag. On this friendship day, let these films teach you the kind of friends you should NOT keep close to you.

Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Enough of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) bashing session for 20 years now! Have you realized that Kajol's character too is equally to be blamed. Her one-sided love for her BFF Rahul does not make her right. Moreover, what kind of best friend is this who does gets upset just because of getting friend-zoned and ghosts you overnight? That's the cost of taking 'pyar dosti hai' way too seriously!

Rancho in 3 Idiots: Yes, Aamir Khan's so-called brilliant character was toxic. His antics added to the already troubled Raju (Sharman Joshi) to the point where he committed suicide. Also, the philosopher and always morally correct Rancho did not think his friends and his girlfriend capable of understanding the truth behind his admission in the college. Taking the cab without bidding you good bye on the last day was the worst thing any friend could do, and Rancho did that.

Kabir/ Bunny in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Bunny sure was everyone's favourite but hey, he was least bothered about his friends. His mates who were with him through thick and thin during his school and college days, were instantly forgotten when he got that ticket to dream career. He totally forgot to keep in touch with his friends while he pursued his career, or rather did not care about it much. Friends like Kabir should not even be invited to the wedding!

Akash in Dil Chahta Hai: The film gave ultimate friendship/travel/music/love and every kind of goal. But Akash is the toxic element of that film. From mocking love to breaking his friend's (Saif Ali Khan) relationship to tagging his another friend's (Akshaye Khanna) serious, innocent love to a disgusting one, he did it all. Thankfully, he received the deserving slap. But then guess who was with him when he finally decided to crash his crush's wedding? These friends whom he mocked all along.

Sanju in Sanju: Sanju (Ranbir Kapoor) gets physical with his BFF Kamli's (Vicky Kaushal) girlfriend. Do we need to explain further on why he is a toxic friend?

So, now you know that the B-town makers almost you fooled by glorifying the most toxic friendships spotted in these much-loved films. So, next time when a movie highlights a friendship, double-check if they are actually worth tagging as #friendshipgoals.
