India is celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Over the years, many movies on the iron man have been made in India. But not as many have had the cultural impact as the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, Lage Raho Munnabhai. In the movie, a local goon, played by Sanjay Dutt, sees hallucinations of Gandhi leading him to promote his ideologies. He terms Gandhism as, reinterpreted in vernacular lingo, 'Gandhigiri'. The movie features Vidya Balan as the female lead, who made a very interesting revelation today. During the conversation, Vidya revealed that she thought the word 'Gandhigiri' was a typo in the script. She even asked the director about it. "You'd only heard of 'dadagiri' so far. So, it is not a very positive context," she said, adding, "First, I thought there is an error and I asked Raju (director). He said, 'Nahi, nahi. It's Gandhigiri'. And then it has become common parlance."

"No one says Gandhism or Gandhivaad. Everyone uses Gandhigiri. I thought it was damn cool," she concluded. Sanjay and Vidya also talked about how Hirani took 3 days to shoot a rather simple scene. It was the scene when Vidya and Sanjay's character meet for the first time in a radio station's studio. Due to excessive heat. Vidya's perfectly blow-dried hair would go flat. Raju wanted one of her tress to fall precisely on her cheek. It took them three nights to shoot for that one scene, owing to the actress' hair.
