Julia Roberts turns a year wiser, hotter and extremely inspiring. The last adjective means a lot to Bollywood as fimmakers here have a thing for her movies. Many of her films have been remade to various degrees here. In fact one of them have been remade so many times that we have lost count. But can you blame them? She has been part of such great cinema that it calls for a remake. Her performances in many of them have been nothing but exemplary. Julia Roberts Has a Funny Take on Her Emmy Snub, Says ‘I’m in Exceptional Company at Least’

The same cant be said about the actresses who recreated her roles in the Bollywood remakes but it is evident that Roberts is the go-to actress for such do-overs.

Check out the list right here...

Stepmom - We Are Family

Many people have a lot of memories attached to Stepmom. Susan Sarandon's fight for life, Ed Harris' struggle to be with his dying ex-wife and his current girlfriend, and the kids... everything was simply fascinating and heart-stirring. And then came Karan Johar's We Are Family which hurt many. While Kajol did a swell job at replacing Sarandon, neither Arjun Rampal nor Kareena Kapoor managed to match Harris and Roberts. No wonder it couldn't do much magic at the box office either.

My Best Friend's Wedding - Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai

We wonder if Roberts ever realised that one of her most successful films was not only remade here but had Uday Chopra in it. YRF didn't even feel the need to get a different title. They just translated the original one in Hindi! Talk about no mehnat! Guess that's why remakes are so popular even if they don't get popular verdict at the box office. Same goes for Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.

Sleeping With The Enemy - Agnisakshi, Daraar, Yaarana, Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche and Humari Adhuri Kahaani

Phew! It seems this particular movie of Roberts is the most favourite of all. There have been remakes after remakes on it and except for Daraar and Agnisakshi, none of it is worth talking about much. The story is simple. An abused wife of a psycho husband escapes his violence and falls for another man. The psycho husband then returns to create havoc. That's it!

Notting Hill - Humko Deewana Kar Gaye

We know there will be many who would say this doesn't add up but in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, there are scenes which are a complete lift-off from Notting Hill. Yes, its blasphemy to do that to this ultimate romantic movie, but Bollywood never cared. The scene where Akshay accidentally drops coffee on Katrina and she goes to his place to change...or the scene where she suddenly lands at her apartment and stays with him! There are many such references.

Pretty Woman - Chori Chori Chupke Chupke

Pretty Woman has inspired many films but there is one which just blatantly lifted from it was Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. The scene where Salman rescues a helpless Preity Zinta at a classy upmarket clothing store is a scene straight from Pretty Woman. For rest of the scenes, please watch the Pretty Woman again.
