Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s Raazi has got us a new hope about good content in Bollywood. The makers are experimenting highly with rich content and Meghna Gulzar’s this movie falls into that category. The film which is based on Harinder Sikka’s book ‘Calling Sehmat’ hit the right chords with audience. The box office numbers are increasing day by day pushing the film into the ‘superhit’ compartment gradually. On day 9, the spy thriller raked in Rs 7.54 Crore taking the total up to Rs 68.88 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Raazi shows SOLID GROWTH on second Sat [58.74%]... This, despite facing stiff competition from the Hollywood biggie #Deadpool2... Expect biz to jump on second Sun... Eyeing ₹ cr mark... [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr, Sat 7.54 cr. Total: ₹ 68.88 cr. India biz.” It can be noted that the film is standing tall against the Hollywood blockbuster, Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool2.

Speaking about making Sehmat a vulnerable character, Meghna Gulzar told Reuters, “It was a very conscious decision. Extremely conscious. I wanted Sehmat to be vulnerable and fragile, because her circumstances are so unpredictable - there is no way to know how things will turn. So, that fear has to remain in her for her to be real and relatable. She cannot suddenly become Lara Croft. That is not my sensibility as a filmmaker either. We wanted to keep her feminine and in flowy pastels, to keep her real and identifiable.” Coming back to the numbers, the coming week will definitely prove to be an important one for the makers.
