Tanushree Dutta was a torchbearer of the #MeToo movement in India when she narrated the details of her sexual harassment. The actress alleged that Nana Patekar tried to touch her inappropriately during a song sequence of Horn Ok! Please in 2008. She later filed an FIR against the Welcome actor at Oshiwara police station and the cops later started investigating the matter. However, their investigation came to a dead end when none of the witnesses were able to side with the actress' claims. Result? They decided to shut the entire case. #MeToo in India: Tanushree Dutta's Sexual Harassment Case Against Nana Patekar Closed by Cops.

Clearly, the development has upset Tanushree and she has now released a statement accusing the police force. "A corrupt police force & legal system giving a clean chit to an even more corrupt person Nana who has been accused even in the past of bullying, intimidation and harassment by several women in the film Industry," said a furious Tanushree in her new statement. .Tanushree Dutta - Nana Patekar Row: Actress Blames His PR Team for Spreading False Rumours About Him Getting a Clean Chit.

Besides the actor, she registered an FIR against choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddique and director Rakesh Sarang, under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. We wonder if the current judgement will demotivate all the other victims who were brave enough to come forward and narrate their horrific tales.
