Well, that's just good news! As per a report on Hollywood Reporter, it is said that Cary Fukunaga is the first American director to helm the Bond franchise. Daniel Craig would be reprising his role as James Bond. Right after the debacle of Sceptre, the 24th Bond movie, Craig swore that he'd rather slit his throat than sign the next Bond film. However, clearly, he got paid really well to do this film, which he affirms is his last Bond movie.

Fukunaga is known for his phenomenal direction of HBO's hit TV series True Detective's first season, Netflix's Beasts of No Nation which also stars Idris Elba and much recently, Netflix series Maniac starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.
