The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the examination dates for Prelims 2018. Students must be ready to sit for the UPSC Preliminary Examination 2018 on June 3 to be held in various centres across India. It has been reported that nearly 50 percent registered candidates are yet to download their e-admit cards. The commission further suggests the applicants to download the e-admit cards soon to avoid last minute hustle. Aspirants can download them using the credentials from the official website of upsc.gov.in.

The notification for the prelims by UPSC reads; “Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination-2018 on 03.06.2018 (Sunday) all over India. As on date, more than 50% candidates have downloaded their e-Admit Cards from the Commission’s website (https://www.upsc.gov.in). Those candidates, who have not yet downloaded their e-Admit Card, are advised to do so urgently to avoid last minute rush.” UPSC further informs that the candidates must carry the print out of the e-admit card to get an entry into the examination hall.

Students are recommended to reach the venue little earlier as 10 minutes before the commencement of the exams, the centres will close its venue to continue with the prelims. The morning session will begin from 9:20 am whereas the afternoon session is scheduled to begin from 2:20 pm. Once the centre’s entries are closed, no students will be allowed to get into the hall. The candidates can find their examination venue details on their e-admit card. Once you download the admit card; you must go through all the points mentioned under the 'Important Instructions to the Candidates'.

On the day of the exam, apart from the hard copy of e-admit card, applicants will have to carry two passport size photographs along with an Identity proof such as Aadhaar card, driving license, passport or voter id. In case of any faults in the admit card, the candidates must report to the commission through an email.
