New Delhi, March 30: The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Friday identified over 10 WhatsApp groups involved in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics paper leak. As per details by the Police, each WhatsApp group have around 50-60 members. The investigation and questioning into the matter is underway.

On Wednesday, the Police had informed that a total of 25 people have been questioned so far in connection with the paper leaks.  Two cases have been registered in the matter and no person has been arrested so far. RP Upadhyay, Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi was quoted by ANI saying that both the papers were leaked on WhatsApp a day before the exam.  “We are trying to trace the trail of paper leak. One private tutor was named by CBSE in their complaint, he has been interrogated”, RP Upadhyay added.

As per reports, the crime branch has also sought a reply from Google over email that was sent to the CBSE chairperson by the hacking group. The mail said they were leaking the paper and had attached images of handwritten question papers to show that they had the paper pattern with them.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced re-exam for Class 10 Math and Class 12 Economics over reports of people leak. The re-examination dates, however, will be announced early next week, the Board informed. Under attack over the board paper leaks, CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal on Wednesday said that the decision to hold re-examination of two subjects was taken in “favour of the students” and the new dates for the exams would be announced soon.

As per reports by PTI, students and Congress youth leaders held protests in several parts of the national capital and accused the board of negligence and demanding immediate action against the guilty. Scores of students gathered at Parliament Street in the heart of the city while members of the Congress' National Students Union of India (NSUI) began marching towards Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar's residence but were stopped.

Protests are also being held by students at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the CBSE's decision to hold re-examination. Some also feel that feel many other question papers were leaked before the exams.
