Chandigarh, January 2: The Nuh police have finally arrested a man accused of rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl on December 26. According to a Times of India report, the accused was a drug addict who tried to steal the goat which belonged to the minor's family. The girl had resisted the act and this agitated the man who raped and strangulated her with her dupatta.

CCTV footage helped police to get the images of the accused along with the stolen goat. Initially, the addict was trying to give excuses but finally admitted to committing the heinous crime. The accused wanted to sell the goat to get money for buying drugs. However, the minor girl didn't allow her to steal the goat. The victim along with two other girls had gone to Aravali hills. While the two girls had returned, the victim didn't turn up. The villagers then spotted the half-naked body of the girl on December 26 and have demanded a death penalty for the accused.
