Bhopal, July 4: In another incident of sexual assault against girls in the Heart of India, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas. The police on Wednesday said that the girl was promised a job by the accused, and the 19-year-old fall into the trap. She was then allegedly raped in Dewas. The police have arrested a man and a woman for calling the victim to Dewas on the promise of offering an employment.

The victim belongs to Khargone district. According to Kotwali police station in-charge MS Parmar, after reaching Dewas on Monday around 9:30 pm the 19-year-old girl called the accused woman who sent Manoj alias Sunny Gurjar to pick her up. Parmar further added that Gurjar drove the victim, on his motorcycle, to a deserted place outside the city where three men joined him. The four accused tied the girl to a tree and allegedly raped her. The accused fled the spot leaving the victim there only after seeing flashlights of a vehicle.

With the help of passersby, the girl reached the police station where she filed a complaint against the accused. Based on the complaint the police lodged an FIR on Tuesday against the four men and the woman under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections. The police have arrested all the accused including Rashmi, a resident of Indore. Superintendent of Police Satyendra Shukla said that the police were questioning the accused.

This is the fourth incident of sexual assault against girls within a week in Madhya Pradesh. On 26 June, an eight-year-old was gang-raped in Mandsaur. The police nabbed both the accused. On July 1, a four-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour, whereas on June 28, a 15-year-old girl was raped by three friends of her elder brother. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed rapists as a burden on earth and even said that these people do not deserve to live.
