Jammu, October 24: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. According to the latest updates, two terrorists were neutralised and their bodies were recovered following the encounter. According to a tweet by ANI, the exchange of fire began at Soothu and Nowgam areas on the outskirts of Srinagar. In the wake of the gunfight, the internet services in these areas remained suspended.

Reports inform that no collateral damage took place and incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered. Citizens have been requested not to enter the encounter site. However, the J&K Police has filed a case and a probe has been initiated into the matter.

On Tuesday, a massive explosion took place inside the Indian Army camp in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, the blast took place on Tuesday morning around 10.30 AM inside the 3rd brigade headquarters at Moti Mahal. Jammu And Kashmir: Three Terrorists Killed In Kulgam Encounter At Laroo Area; One Security Personnel Injured.

Earlier this week, seven civilians were killed when unused explosives of three Jaish-e-Mohammed militants went off in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. Police informed that the three militants were gunned down in an encounter. Reports inform that the security forces launched a search-and-cordon operation following intelligence report about the presence of militants.
