Jaipur, January 4: Rajasthan Police have arrested two men for allegedly tampering with the ashes of a deceased 15-year-old girl at a local crematorium. The suspects reportedly confessed to performing tantric rituals inspired by YouTube videos in a desperate attempt to cure a chronically ill relative. The incident occurred on Friday morning at a crematorium located in the Mahesh Nagar police station area of Jaipur. The 15-year-old girl had passed away during hospital treatment and was cremated by her family on Thursday. According to police reports, locals became suspicious when they observed two men—identified as Suresh Kumar and Shanti Kumar—behaving strangely near the girl's remains. When confronted, the duo initially claimed to be relatives of the deceased, but their inability to provide consistent details led the witnesses to contact the girl’s family. Upon further interrogation by the police, the accused revealed that they had turned to occult practices after traditional medical treatments failed to help a relative who had been ill for six months. They admitted to searching for "healing" methods on YouTube, which allegedly provided instructions on performing tantric rituals at a cremation site. "The accused stated they were performing these rituals to heal a family member who had shown no improvement after prolonged hospital care," said Head Constable Dharmveer Singh of the Mahesh Nagar police station. Before the police arrived, the suspects were reportedly apprehended and physically assaulted by an angry crowd of locals and relatives of the deceased. Officers intervened to take the men into custody. A formal case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the girl’s family. The police are currently investigating whether the suspects were part of any larger occult group or if they acted solely based on the online content they consumed.
