Kanpur, October 21: In a shocking incident from Ismailpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district, a woman allegedly poisoned her husband just hours after observing a Karwa Chauth fast for his long life. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, October 20, following Karwa Chauth 2024, a day of traditional fasting and rituals.
According to an NDTV report, Shailesh Kumar (32) was reportedly poisoned by his wife, Savita, who suspected him of having an extramarital affair. According to officials from the Kada Dham police station, Savita had been fasting throughout the day as part of the Karwa Chauth ritual while Shailesh was busy making arrangements for the celebration. Woman Keeps Fast on Karwa Chauth 2024, Then Kills Husband By Poisoning Him
The couple had an argument while Savita was breaking her fast in the evening. Although the situation appeared to calm down, Savita later prepared a meal of macaroni for Shailesh, allegedly lacing it with poison. Unaware of the danger, Shailesh consumed the meal, after which his health rapidly deteriorated. Savita then fled under the pretext of visiting a neighbour.
