The results of the Alathur Lok Sabha Constituency has been declared. Congress candidate Ramya Haridas won the Alathur constituency with 5,33,815 votes defeating sitting MP and CPIM candidate Dr PK Biju. Other candidates in the fray included Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Dr Jayan C Kuthanur and Bharath Dharma Jana Sena candidate T V Babu. Voting took place for the Alathur Constituency on April 23. Alathur is a village and gram panchayat in the Palakkad district which has a predominantly agricultural economy. Alathur Lok Sabha constituency which was earlier known as Ottappalam Lok Sabha constituency was renamed and came into existence in 2008. Former Indian President KR Narayanan represented the constituency thrice from 1977 to 2009 while it was known as Ottappalam. Alathur is among 20 constituencies in Kerala and the constituency number is 9.

Alathur Lok Sabha constituency comprises of seven assembly segments including Tarur (SC), Chittur, Nenmara, Alathur, Chelakkara (SC), Kunnamkulam and Wadakkanchery. The CPM has held the Alathur constituency since 2009, after its formation. Remya Haridas was the President of Kunnamangalam Block Panchayat in Kozhikode. Biju has won from the seat in Palakkad district in 2009 and 2014. The Lok Sabha elections 2019 was held between April 11 and May 19 across the country in seven phases. Voting was held in Kerala during the third phase on April 23 in a single phase. During the third phase, the polling was held in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies of 14 states. The counting of votes was held on May 23 following which the results were declared.
