Mumbai, March 24: Akola Lok Sabha seat is one of the 48 parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra. Akola Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on April 18 in the second phase of general elections. The election result of Akola constituency will be declared on May 23. Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Akola.

Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre has been renominated from Akola by the BJP. Congress has fielded Hidayat Ulla Barkat Ulla. Dhotre defeated Hidayat Ulla in the 2014 elections. The process of filing nomination for Akola Lok Sabha polls began on March 19. The last day for nominations was March 26.
