Bhopal, October 14: Kailash Vijayvargiya, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national General Secretary on Sunday assured that the party will change the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh if it wins the Jhabua constituency in the upcoming bye-election in the state. During his address at the Azad Chowk in Madhya Pradesh, he said that if BJP wins from Jhabua, then he would dislodge the current Congress government led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. "If people make us win Jhabua assembly bypoll, then I guarantee that we will change the Chief Minister of the state", Vijayvargiya was quoted by ANI.

The senior BJP leader went on to say that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi could not change the Chief Minister as per his promise that if farmers' loans were not waived off within 10 days, then he will replace the CM. "Rahul could not do that but we will do it," Vijayvargiya said. Kailash Vijayvargiya Loses Cool on Being Grilled by News Anchor Over Son Akash's Assault on Municipal Official.

The bye-elections to Jhabua constituency will be held on October 21 along with the Assembly elections of Maharashtra and Haryana. The counting of votes will be taken up on October 24. In the last Assembly elections in 2018, the Congress had won 114 seats and the BJP came to a close second with 109 seats in a 230-member assembly.

In June this year, former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and BJP vice president Shivraj Singh Chauhan had said that his party is not dislodging anyone but it cannot do anything if the state government "falls due to infighting" within the Congress.
