Lucknow, May 23: The results of the Kairana Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Kairana seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11. A total voter turnout of 64 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India. Kairana constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The election in Kairana were conducted on April 11, 2019 as per the Phase 1 schedule. The parties declared candidates from the seat. The Congress declared Harendra Singh Malik as its candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gave ticket to Pardeep Kumar. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Hukum Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party won from the seat with 5,65,909 votes. However, his demise in the year 2018 necessitated Kairana Lok Sabha bypolls last year. Begum Tabassum Hasan won the bypolls and became the MP from the seat.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019 took place across the country between April 11 and May 23. While voting took place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the General Election results is scheduled to be released on Thursday, May 23.
