The BJP, in 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections, emerged as single largest party winning 122 out of 288 total seats in the state. The Shiv Sena bagged 63 seats, whereas the Congress won 42. The NCP could win 41 seats. All four parties had contested polls separately. In Haryana, the BJP won 47 seats in the 90 member assembly, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 19 seats, the Congress won 15 seats while others won 9 seats.
