In the six constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba-led PDP failed to gain an upper hand in any of the seats. The trends show a neck and neck contest between National Conference and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with three seats being led by each side.

In Jammu, it is Jugal Kishore is leading, Dr Jitendra Singh is leading on Udhampur seat. While BJP’s Jamyang Tsering Namgyal is also leading from the Ladakh seat. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah is leading on Srinagar seat. Mohammad Akbar Lone of NC is leading on Baramulla seat.

Mufti while conceding defeat also had a word of advice for Congress. She tweeted, "Congratulations to Narendra Modi ji for a historic mandate. Today surely belongs to BJP and it's allies. Time for Congress to get an Amit Shah." She also congratulated other winning candidates from NC, by tweeting, "I’ve been fortunate to get the love & affection of my people. They have every right to express their anger for my failings. Accept their verdict with humility. Congratulations to winning candidates from NC. I’m grateful to my party workers & colleagues."
