Sambhal constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The election here will be conducted on April 23, 2019 as per the Phase III schedule. The district of Sambhal is part of the Moradabad division Uttar Pradesh state. The town of Bahjoi is its headquarters. The districts which adjoin Sambhal district are (clockwise from north) Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Badaun, Aligarh and Bulandshahr. The nearest major metropolis is New Delhi. Sambhal lies 158.6 kilometres due east from New Delhi, past Ghaziabad, Noida and Hapur. The driving time from New Delhi is about 2 hours 40 minutes. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Satyapal Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won this Lok Sabha seat. However, the BJP has denied ticket to Satyapal Singh, who is the sitting Member of Parliament from the seat. Instead, Parmeshwar Lal Saini is the BJP candidate from the seat this time. The Samajwadi Party has fielded Shafiqur Rahman Barq and the Congress party has nominated JP Singh to fight from this Lok Sabha Constituency for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
