Mumbai, March 24: Sangli Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 48 parliamentary seats in Maharashtra. Polling for Lok Sabha election in Sangli constituency was held on April 23 in the third phase of general polls. NCP's Udayanraje Pratapsinh Maharaj Bhonsle was elected as Member of Parliament from Sangli. Sanjay Patil of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Sangli.

While the BJP has announced Patils' candidature, the Congress gave up on its one-time bastion, Sangli Lok Sabha constituency, to NCP. The NCP fielded Udayanraje Pratapsinh Maharaj Bhonsle. The process of filing nomination for Sangli Lok Sabha election began from March 28.
