Lucknow, August 1: Doctors at King George's Medical University (KGMU) hospital on Thursday issued a health bulletin of the Unnao rape survivor and her lawyer. According to the health bulletin, the rape victim and her lawyer, Mahendra Singh, who were critically injured in a road accident, remained unconscious. Doctors, however, maintained that the health condition of both the patients was stable.

"Their condition is critical. Both are on ventilator. But their condition is stable," the hospital said. "A team of expert doctors is conducting the treatment free of cost," it added. While the woman, who has accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her, has been on a ventilator since the accident on Sunday, the advocate was removed from the ventilator for sometime on Tuesday during which his condition remained stable. Unnao Rape Survivor Accident: Victim's Car Was Over-Speeding, Driver Panicked Seeing Truck Coming From Wrong Side, Finds CBI.

The lawyer, however, was put on the ventilator again. The rape survivor and her lawyer sustained multiple fractures after a truck rammed into their car in Rae Bareilly. Two aunts of the victims who were travelling with her died on the spot in the mishap. The CBI on Wednesday filed an FIR in connection with the accident and charged BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and nine others, including the kin of an Uttar Pradesh Minister, with murder. Truck Involved in Mishap Owned by Brother of Samajwadi Party Leader Nandu Pal.

Earlier today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expelled Sengar from the party. Sengar is a four-time MLA, who represents the Bangermau constituency in the UP assembly. The demand for Sengar’s expulsion from the ruling BJP was led by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. "For Gods sake, Mr. Prime Minister, divest this criminal and his brother of the political power your party is giving them," Priyanka Gandhi tweeted on Monday.

"What is the BJP waiting for? Why has this man not been expelled from their party even when his name is in the latest FIR in the Unnao Rape Case?" she asked.
