In a first-ever royal same-sex marriage, Lord Ivar Mountbatten created history. The lesser-known member of the Royal Family did something that was never done before among the royals. This weekend the 55-year old cousin of The queen exchanged rings with his partner Jame Coyle. On Saturday, the ceremony took place and the two became one. This remarkable event is officially the first ever same-sex marriage in the family of the Royals. In a private chapel in Bridwell Park, Uffculme, Devon, the two exchanged the vows. Amongst the 60 guests were Ivar's three daughters as well. Facts About the Queen You Didn't Know.
He even took on to Instagram 3 months ago to reveal his daughters' wish of his mother walking him to the aisle to give away to James. He captioned it saying, 'My daughters decided it was only right their Mum should walk me down the aisle and give me away to James. Here’s hoping he won’t say no at the last minute'

He also shared a picture of the wedding ring that James picked up.

Well we did it finally! It was an amazing day despite the miserable British weather. Fabulous service conducted by Trish Harrogate, chief Registrar for Devon, who set the perfect but lighthearted tone for what is a serious occasion. The accompanying gospel choir were amazing. Thank you so much to Bristol’s Teachers Rock Choir for your superb singing. Most importantly a massive thanks to my 3 gorgeous girls for being so understanding and supportive, without their support this could never have happened! And finally the biggest thank you to James for being just perfect......#wedidit #wonderfulday #despitetherain
