While you prepare for the big Christmas eve celebration and are all set to chug down gallons and get super drunk, have you thought of a way to tackle the crazy hangover you will wake up with the next day? Well, we are here to the rescue. Did you know there exist simple tricks to NOT feel miserable after the big night? There are precautionary measures you can take before and after getting drunk that can help you keep terrible hangovers at bay! First things first, you know alcohol is not good for your liver and overall health and it is very important to drink only after you turn 18.

Even though there are a few health benefits of some forms of alcohol like wine, you must be aware that too much of anything is not good.  However, if you want to not wake up hungover and wanting to vanish the next day, you need to keep in mind a few things, right from what you eat while drinking to what kind of alcohol you plan to get high on.

Hydrate

There is nothing more important than hydration, the morning you are extremely hungover. Your body is down with the effects of alcohol and the only way to give your body some energy is to hydrate it with ample amount of water. Make sure to drink water the first thing when you wake up hungover.

Eat

You may not even want to look at food, but please eat! Your body needs nothing but nutrition when it is down with alcohol. Even though you may not want to, eat something like a veggie sandwich or anything that is less greasy and oily.

Take a Shower

A hangover may make it difficult for you to even stand straight, but a hot shower will really help you! A warm shower will not only relax your body but also make you think straight.

Vitamin C

Load on vitamin C that your body could really use when hungover. The best way to do that is to drink ample orange juice.

Reduce Nausea

One important thing to feel better is to get rid of nausea. Ginger is known to reduce nausea and vomiting. You can either keep a piece of ginger in your mouth or have a little bit of its juice mixed with warm water and honey. Honey is known to work wonders to beat the harmful effects of alcohol.

Sleep

Apart from nutrition, your body needs rest. Sleep well and let your body revive.

Eat Again

Amongst all the other ill effects of alcohol, it also impairs your body's absorption of certain nutrients. Therefore it is important to eat healthy food the day you are hungover. Heavy drinking can decline the levels of vitamins A and B, zinc, potassium, and other nutrients. Consume foods like eggs, meat, fish, orange and yellow-coloured vegetables, such as sweet potatoes.

Well, there are also tonnes of things you should not do after getting drunk and experiencing a hangover. Apart from avoiding drink and drive, you must avoid caffeine as much as possible. This will make your body more dehydrated and weak. Also, avoid pain killers and other pills and instead try to cure hangover via natural methods.
