The gorgeous Sushmita Sen became the first Indian to win the Miss Universe pageant in the year 1994 when she was just 18 years old. She swooned the world with her answer at the final question and answer round which made her win the title Miss Universe 1994. After Sushmita won the coveted title, the second Indian to win beauty pageant was Lara Dutta. Lara was crowned Miss Intercontinental 1997 and Miss Universe 2000. She also achieved the highest score in the swimsuit competition. In 2000, while Lara was crowned as Miss Universe, Priyanka Chopra became Miss World 2000. It was a historic moment for India to win these prestigious titles.
