A theme park named 'Wonders of the World Park' featuring replicas of seven wonders of the world made from waste has been installed in south Delhi. Inspired by the Bollywood movie  Badrinath Ki Dulhania starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt which features 'Kota's Wonders of the World Park', this park was made, said South Delhi Municipal Commissioner (SDMC) Puneet Kumar Goel. The park which was earlier a landfill will be completely powered by solar energy. It will be opened for the public on February 9, 2019.

The seven wonders of the world include Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, Eiffel Tower in Paris, Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, Statue of Liberty in the United States, Christ the Redeemer of Brazil, Colosseum in Italy and Taj Mahal in India. World Heritage Day 2018: Know the Importance of UNESCO 36 Heritage Sites in India.

Talking about the idea to make the theme Park, Goel said, "In Bollywood film Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Kota's Wonders of the World Park has been featured. We saw the scene and it triggered an idea. So, we sent a team to Kota to examine it, so as to replicate it."

Goel said, "About 90 tonne of industrial and other kinds of waste would be required, which has been collected from different departments of the SDMC. It will be another great sightseeing place for people in Delhi. But, the idea germinated after we saw the movie, so one can say it was a filmy idea."
