The main candidates for the Jamalpur Assembly Election 2020 include Shailesh Kumar of the Janata Dal (United), Ajay Kumar Singh of the Congress party, Subodh Tanti of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) among others. In the 2015 Bihar elections, Shailesh Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) had won the polls by defeating LJP candidate Himanshu Kunvar.
