The main candidates for the Rajnagar Assembly Election 2020 include the current MLA Ramprit Paswan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ramawartar Paswan of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) among other candidates. In the last elections in Bihar held in 2015, Ramprit Paswan of BJP had won from the Madhubani seat by defeating RJD candidate Ramawatar Paswan.
