In a groundbreaking discovery, researchers from the Minderoo-UWA Deep-Sea Research Centre have captured the first-ever footage of a shark in the frigid waters of Antarctica. The 3-to-4-meter sleeper shark was filmed at a depth of 490 meters near the South Shetland Islands, challenging the long-held expert belief that the Southern Ocean was too cold for sharks to survive.
