World's oldest person, a Japanese has died at the age of 117. Chiyo Miyako died on Sunday at her home south of Tokyo. Miyako was born on May 2, 1901, became the world's oldest person in April after 117-year-old Nabi Tajima from Kikai Island in southern Japan passed away. Miyako was born in Wakayama, located in the Kansai region of Japan.

According to Guinness World Records, her family said she was "very chatty". They refer to her as "the goddess" and described her as a patient and kind person who always happy. She learned calligraphy at a young age and continued it until recently. He also loved eating delicious food, with sushi and eels being her regular favourite. While Chiyo was the oldest living female, Masazo Nonako who turned 113 earlier this year in July is the oldest male. Reportedly, the oldest person in Japan is a 115-year-old woman, Kane Tanaka of Fukuoka on the southern island of Kyushu. The world’s oldest man, Masazo Nonaka on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, celebrated his 113th birthday Wednesday.
