New Delhi, December 24: A man claiming to be a central government employee posted in Delhi has allegedly been approaching women for marriage by projecting himself as a highly placed official. He also claimed to be the relative, specifically the younger brother of senior journalist Chitra Tripathi, and circulated photographs showing him with prominent personalities, including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to establish credibility.

In a post on X, Chitra Tripathi categorically denied any association with the man. She stated that this is the second such case that has come to her notice where her name and identity have been misused. AI-Generated & Morphed Photos Used
Tripathi warned that the individual has been using AI tools and photo manipulation to create fake images with well-known personalities. Even Educated Officials Were Targeted
According to Tripathi, a woman district-level officer had also fallen into the trap. Marriage discussions reportedly progressed significantly before doubts emerged. The officer had even visited Tripathi’s office around two months ago to verify the claims.
The claim that the man is a relative of journalist Chitra Tripathi is false, as she has publicly clarified that she has no connection with him whatsoever. His assertion of holding a high-ranking post in the central government is unverified and misleading, with no credible evidence or official records supporting the claim. Further, the photographs he circulated showing himself with the Prime Minister and other prominent personalities have been found to be digitally manipulated using AI or photo-morphing techniques, indicating a deliberate attempt to mislead and defraud.
