An article titled 'Top 10 List of Most Corrupt Political Party in the World 2018' has been doing rounds on social media since quite some time. While at a quick glance you may miss it for a legit story published on BBC, it is a fake story and not related to the media organisation at all, but goes with a similar name BBC News Hub. Many Twitterati has fallen prey to this post in the past too, and this time it is a writer and professor MadhuPurnima Kishwar who has tweeted the story.
The article ranks the Indian National Congress (INC) as the second most corrupt party in the world and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz PML(N) gets the first spot. It also goes on to name National Resistance Movement of Uganda, Communist Party of China- China as corrupt political parties of the world. PUBG Game Banned By High Court of Maharashtra is Fake News! Sharing the story, Kishwar wrote on Twitter, "List of Top 10 most corrupt parties in the world puts Sonia Congress at No.2 after Pak's PML. Rest mostly Communist parties of China, Russia, Cuba etc keeping company with Nazi Party of Germany."

Earlier, former Infosys director Mohandas Pai and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had also shared the same story from their Twitter accounts. As Agnihotri was bombarded by comments from his followers telling him it is not written by the real BBC, he took down the tweet, however, Pai continues to keep the tweet. A former BBC employee Trushar Barot had tweeted out to Pai requesting to delete the tweet, however, he still stays adamant.
The listicle does not quote any survey or relevant source from where the conclusions have been derived. With no logical reasoning, it has listed down 10 political parties from around the world as corrupt. TIn the past, the same website had come out with an article listing 'most corrupt politicians' including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
