China is known for its unique solutions to even ordinary problems. But  an ordinary problem can be a menace and China's Hubei province is fighting the problem of Jaywalking (the practice of crossing the road when one shouldn't or carelessly crossing roads) in an amusing yet effective way. At a city's juncture, if pedestrians come too close to the road while the light is red, they get sprayed with an automatic "mini mist" as reported by state news agency Shanghaiist.com.

The video of the pedestrians on the road getting sprayed with an automatic "mini mist" put by Shanghaiist.com, has gone viral showing pedestrians amused and surprised by the mist:

This is surely an interesting way to ensure that pedestrians are not crossing the road or jaywalking during peak traffic hours or even otherwise. Jaywalking is one of the most common scenes in metro cities in India and especially in the financial capital of India- Mumbai. In India, Pune had adopted the 'tyre-killer' method which was more destructive than creative and had to be removed as citizens and residents complained of the threat it presented to the vehicles. Watch the video:

This was surely a dangerous way to get rid of vehicles that broke the law. But jaywalking is a problem in many places in India. Do you think, the government in India should also adopt the Chinese method to stop jaywalking?
