Mumbai Police Celebrates Birthday of 85-Year-Old Matunga Woman, Who Lives Alone, Every Year

Mumbai, January 3: In a sweet gesture, the Mumbai Police has been celebrating the birthday of the 85-year-old woman, Lalita Subramanyam, who lives alone in Mumbai for nearly three decades now. Mumbai police shared pictures of Subramanyam's birthday celebrations and wrote, "Our favourite day of the year is here. Officers & staff of Matunga PSTN with the 85 years young ’Mom’ Lalita Ji, for years together on this day & many such days. You had joined in her celebrations last year too Mumbai, you may send in your wishes again with."

Subramanyam received her first birthday surprise in 2016 and since then police have been celebrating it every year. Subramanyam, whose two children are in the US and one in Bengaluru is under local police's list of ‘senior citizens requiring care and protection’.

After the pictures of her birthday went viral on the internet, Netizens appreciated the heartwarming gesture by Mumbai Police.
