Seoni, September 15: In a tragic incident, a devotee died while performing the 'Nagin' dance during the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district on Friday. The popular 'Nagin' dance involves at least two persons; one dances like a serpent while the other imitates a snake charmer, playing a wind instrument in order to tame the reptile. A group of devotees was celebrating during the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony. On-demand, the disc jockey (DJ) played the beats of the 'Nagin' dance and revellers started shaking legs on the music. Man Falls on His Head While Performing Nagin Dance:

During the 'Nagin' dance, Thakur started jumping on the floor. At one stage, he hits his head on the floor and becomes motionless. People around him cheer for him but he doesn't respond. They then realise that Thakur had died. The police were informed who reached the spot and took possession of the body. The post-mortem report was awaited. The entire incident was recorded on camera of a videographer who was hired to capture celebrations.

Notably, Thakur recently received injuries on his head in a road accident. He had completely recovered after treatment, Thakur's father told News18.
