When Facebook user William Williamson from Sydney shared his discovery to a community Sutherland Shire, everyone online was equally confused. The image of a peculiar-looking white spider that William had found at home, baffled the netizens, wondering which species it could be. While Facebook users were trying to identify the type of the species, everyone unanimously agreed it appear like a piece of sushi. William was bewildered to see the critter in his home. The spider, sitting on his stairs, had legs that looked like soft shell crab and green orbs on its back that resembles pieces of cucumber. He posted a snap of the spider on the Facebook community group in the hope of getting it identified. But it sparked alarm among netizens, confused with its appearance. “At first glance I thought this was a piece of sushi,” one commentator writes. “Looks like it ate a marshmallow,” another said. Ultimately, the eight-legged was identified. According to the Australian Museum, it is a female Magnificent Spider, otherwise known as an Ordgarius magnificus spider. The officials further said that the spider is not dangerous to humans. This type of spider, is majorly found in South Wales and Queensland and they do not spin a web. The crafty creatures, instead use a sticky silk orb to catch its prey.
