Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) played Mumbai Indians (MI) in the match no 7 of VIVO IPL 2019, which they lost by 6 runs. The game was very thrilling as it went on till the last ball. However, the game became controversial in the last ball of RCB inning, when the umpire failed to call no-ball bowled by Lasith Malinga to Shivam Dube. This mistake by the umpire cost RCB the match, which got trolled on Twitter. RCB vs MI IPL 2019 Stat Highlights: AB de Villiers’ Heroics in Vain as Mumbai Indians Win Amidst No-Ball Controversy.

RCB needed 17 runs from the last over to chased down the total of 188. Shivam Dube smashed Mumbai Indians swinger Malinga for six on the very first ball of the over. Dube was dropped on the next ball by Jasprit Bumrah, in the next three deliveries, Lasith Malinga bought the match in favour of MI. RCB required a six on the last ball to take it to the super over, but the left-handed batsman Dube just managed to hit a single towards long-on.

Later after the players left the ground, it was observed in the replay that Malinga had overstepped. Had umpire made the right call that moment, RCB would have needed 5 runs from the last ball with AB De Villiers on strike. Mr 360 degree De Villiers could have at least hit a boundary to take the match to the super over or maybe even a six to take his side home. This indeed cost RCB the game as they lost the opportunity to earn 2 points. Watch video of Malinga overstepping on the last ball of the inning, as Virat Kohli goes furious over it.

Apart from this controversy, we saw some good cricketing action in yesterday's game. From RCB side de Villiers played a good knock of unbeaten 70 in 41 deliveries. He smashed two consecutive sixes in the third last over bowled by Hardik Pandya. However, MI will credit this victory to Jasprit Bumrah, who unexpectedly bought Mumbai back in the match. When MI pace bowler Bumrah came to ball RCB needed 22 from 2 overs. The death specialist bowler of Mumbai Indians bowled good yorkers and dismissed RCB batsman de Grandhomme and just conceded 5 runs in that over. Bumrah was awarded the Man of the Match for his figures of 3/20 in 4 overs.
