A woman spent close to 13 lakhs (£15,000) on getting a plastic surgery for her nose and it ended up all black. Shari Manchon treated herself to a new nose on her 40th birthday in November 2017. But she developed a 'polly beak,' which is a post-operative deformity. Her tip of the nose slightly went away and she got a parrot beak. Panicking she was looking for an alternative to save her nose and heard of leech therapy.

The operation results had left her horrified plus she got a sinus infection which only worsened her condition. She was too embarrassed to go anywhere or even discuss it with friends. To get her nose fixed she would again have to shell out more money. She sought advice from the most renowned plastic surgeon in USA and he suggested her an option that was not costly but sure a little weird. Leeches are known to be used in surgeries to make blood circulation.

At first, she freaked out about having a blood-sucking leech near her body but eventually gave in to try. She consulted a leech specialist and started her therapy. So Manchon had to lie in her own blood with leeches around her face. Talking about the horrific experience she said, "You’ve got yourself into this situation girl, you’re going to have to get yourself out of it somehow! They start out small and then they grow and grow, as they start to effectively get drunk on your bad blood."

It took about three days for her into this bloodsucking therapy to get her nose back to normal. She returned back to her house and was happy to have her nose all new and nice. It was so good that no one noticed a thing wrong about the nose. Leeches proved to be her saviours when things were going to worse. Now Shari Manchon wants to tell everyone to give leeches a chance.
