The kidnappers had bound and gagged Anuj, demanding a ransom of INR 20 lakh from his family. Following swift action, police arrested the culprits and tracked Anuj to the hotel, where he was safely recovered.

A video has gone viral of the police officers as they went to the hotel room where Anuj was kept. “Hello Anuj, Jaipur police”, a cop can be heard saying in the video. The mastermind behind the kidnapping, Virendra Singh, is a software engineer. Five people have been arrested in connection with the case: Virendra Singh, Vinod Singh, Amit Singh, Jitendra Bhandari, and Jamuna Sarkar.
